MLJ Extends Swamp Flowline Repair Contract with NAOC

MLJ Marine Oil & Gas Limited continues its flowline and pipeline leak repair work across swamp locations in Brass and Bayelsa State, under an ongoing contract with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC).

The work covers repair of flowlines and pipelines running through difficult swamp terrain — sites that are hard to reach by road and require marine-based access, specialized rigging, and crews experienced in wetland conditions. It’s the kind of job that tests both equipment and planning: getting welding crews, containment booms, and repair materials safely into a swamp location is often a bigger logistical challenge than the repair itself.

This work builds directly on MLJ’s long-running relationship with NAOC, which dates back to 2010 and has included everything from AGO supply and marine equipment provision to pipeline integrity testing and metering station upgrades. Swamp flowline repair sits at the intersection of two of MLJ’s core capabilities — marine logistics and pipeline maintenance — which is part of why the company has been able to keep this contract active across multiple phases since 2020.

Routine and emergency pipeline repair remains one of MLJ’s core service lines, alongside non-destructive testing, sectional replacement, leak repair, and cathodic protection. The company’s inspectors are certified to SNT Level II under SNT-T-C-IA standards, covering methods from magnetic particle inspection to radiographic testing — the kind of integrity work that has to happen before, during, and after a physical repair like this one.

As of this writing, the Brass and Bayelsa repair work remains ongoing, with MLJ continuing to support NAOC’s swamp operations as part of its broader portfolio of pipeline integrity services across the Niger Delta.
